TRAVEL TIPS

During the day, dress as casual as you like. Cotton shorts, loose shirts, sandals, and a swimsuit will do just fine. There’s aerobics and a jogging track on most ships, so bring your athletic shoes, too. When you go ashore, a comfortable pair of walking shoes will be your best friend. Sunglasses and a hat or sun visor are also a good idea.

Evenings are a special time on cruise ships. There is always at least one formal night when cocktail dresses or gowns are recommended for the ladies and the men wear a jacket and tie or tuxedo. On the informal evenings, just about anything but shorts is fine. On some cruises, there are also special theme nights like Country & Western Night, 50’s & 60’s Night, and Caribbean Night. Dress is casual, but many guests bring clothes appropriate to the theme (poodle skirts, cowboy hats, tropical shirts, etc.).

If you forget to bring something, don’t worry. There are shops on board that sell everything from beaded gowns to sunscreen. Most ships also offer laundry and pressing services. Remember to bring a carry on bag. All suitcases are collected the night before your ship returns to her home port so they can be cleared by customs before you leave the ship. You may want to pack one last change of clothes and your toiletries in an overnight bag for your last morning prior to departure.

THINGS TO REMEMBER

1.Proof
 of Citizenship is required. You must travel with a passport or birth 
certificate and photo ID.
	
2.There will be one or two formal nights during your cruise. Gentlemen 
should take a suit or blazer and tie. Tuxedos are optional. Women should
 pack nice church dresses, pantsuits, or cocktail dresses. Gentlemen are
 required to wear long trousers at evening meals. Your hair dryer, 
curlers, and shavers are compatible with most ship’s electrical current.
 There is no need to pack towels. The ship provides both bath and beach 
towels for use on and off the ship.
	
3.Carry-on bags are recommended. You should pack cool, comfortable 
clothes to change into. Remember to put in swimsuits, suntan lotion, 
sunglasses, hats or visors, books, and magazines. Keep your expensive 
jewelry and camera equipment in your carry on bag. Pack anything you 
might need the first few hours after boarding, including any 
medications.
	
4.Your ship has a cash-less credit card system. This sign and sail 
program allows you to charge bar beverages, shore excursions and 
duty-free items. During your cruise this credit card also serves as a 
boarding pass and eliminates carrying money while aboard. Most ports of 
calls accept cash, traveler’s checks, and most major credit cards.
	
5.General tipping guidelines are normally $10.00 per day per guest. For 
your convenience, the gratuities for your dining and stateroom services 
are automatically added to your onboard Sail & Sign charge account. 
You will have complete discretion to adjust tips based upon the level of
 service you receive during the cruise.  Bar beverages already have the 
tip included in their price.
	
6.For clients who are driving to the pier, parking is available for 
$12-16 per night. Most parking lots are fenced and lighted and are close
 to the ship. For clients flying, call your airline to verify your 
flights 24-48 hours in advance. Generally, the airlines will charge a 
fee for checked bags.
	
7.The cruise lines no longer issue paper tickets. You must pre-register 
online and print your necessary documents.

cruise, call Carnival at 1-877-TVL-HTLN (1-877-885-4856).
	
9.Debarkation normally takes approximately two hours after the ship 
piers at the end of your cruise. Remember to keep out books, magazines, 
and personal stereos. Eat a casual breakfast and enjoy your last few 
hours of your cruise.
